In All Honesty

I’ve exposed my inner self with nothing
left to hide behind,
vulnerable to the condemnation that I
cannot handle,
The plastic smile slathered from the corners of my
lips to my cheeks makes them more
comfortable,
while I sit atop a throne of needles;
each word they spew thrusting
me further down the thin
metal rods;
the pearls of rouge slithering
into a murky puddle below,
sole proof of my living
as inside
I’ve been hollow for years.
