The Subtle Compromise of Night & Day

Quietly tucked betwixt the thick white sheets of cloud
The sun sleeps at ease
Shining with sharp rays aloud
Complimenting each streak with the help of a breeze
Subtle, sneaking, crawling across the objects below
Ever so naturally dancing and twirling
Bouncing off of branches and into the flow
of the trees and plants blooming and whirling
Freer than any winged animal land ridden
She smiles with a smile that could swoon
Knowing that not long, her time reigns forbidden
And her rays to be replaced with the moon.
